Welcome to Ballentine Elementary School, home of the Ballentine Bears!

I am starting my thirty-first year as an educator in District 5, working at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I joined the administrative team at BES eighteen years ago serving four years as Assistant Principal and am starting my fourteenth as Principal.

I love being a part of the Ballentine family, where our motto is “We are Ballentine!” and our theme is All In!” We have an amazing school where students, their families, and staff work and grow together to strengthen our culture of learning and high expectations; a culture of excellence where individual talents and differences create a diverse, positive learning environment and an exceptional educational foundation.

I am always excited about the opportunities that a new school year brings. We value your input and support, and encourage your involvement as we work together to make this our BESt year yet!  My door is always open to you, so please feel free to stop by, call (476-4500), or email me (

Mr. Zach Keister, Asst. Principal

This is my tenth year as an administrator at Ballentine. Prior to coming here, I taught students with exceptional needs in West Columbia and Weaverville, North Carolina. At Ballentine, I am lucky to be around an amazing group of students and faculty on a daily basis. It is my goal to do everything I possibly can to ensure that every student reaches their greatest potential.  Outside of school, I spend my time running, biking, or paddling the surrounding areas of the Midlands and beyond. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions you should have throughout the school year.

Mrs. Allison Babb, Asst. Administrator

I am so excited to be starting my 19th year in District Five!  This is my 3rd year at the BESt school serving as the Administrative Assistant Principal.  I am so excited to be part of the Ballentine Elementary family.  Here at Ballentine, we have a loving culture where we help each and every student reach their full potential.  When not at school I spend lots of time with my family. We spend our falls in the upstate cheering on the tigers and our spring traveling to cheer competitions around the south.  Please reach out to me at any time if there is anything that I can do for you or your family.  Here at Ballentine, we LOVE and Grow our students!
